'Smallville' Star Brings Wonder Woman to 'Harry's Law,' James Wolk Finds 'Happy Endings' and More Casting News

Filed under:

Erica Durance Wonder Woman Harry's Law'Smallville' actress Erica Durance will guest star on 'Harry's Law' as Wonder Woman ... sort of.

According to TVLine, Durance will appear in a Season 2 episode of 'Harry's Law' as a "psychologically infirm" woman who thinks she's the DC Comics character. In her Wonder Woman persona, Durance's character seeks revenge on those who commit domestic abuse.

Durance will appear in the 11th episode of 'Harry's Law,' which does not have an airdate yet.

Audiences may recall NBC produced a pilot for a new Wonder Woman series from 'Harry's Law' creator David E. Kelley. The pilot never made it to series.

No word on whether Durance will don the iconic ensemble.

In other casting news ...

Mike McQueary Email -- I DID Stop The Rape

Filed under: Mike McQueary, TMZ Sports

Mike McQueary
wrote an email in the last week, griping that he's "getting hammered" unfairly because he claims he stopped Jerry Sandusky from continuing to anally rape a 10-year-old before leaving the locker room in 2002.

The email -- obtained by the Associated Press, reads as follows:

"You are the first person I have told this ... and I don't know you extremely well ... and I have been told bye (sic) officials to not say anything ...."

"I did stop it, not physically ... but made sure it was stopped when I left that locker room ... I did have discussions with the official at the university in charge of police ... no one can imagine my thoughts or wants to be in my shoes for those 30-45 seconds...trust me."

"Do with this what you want ... but I am getting hammered for handling this the right way ... or what I thought at the time was right ... I had to make tough impacting quick decisions."

"This is off record ... again ... I have not and will not say anything to anyone else."

It's unclear who received the email, but it sounds like it was sent to a reporter.

NCIS Review: Always Faithful

For a show so procedural in nature, NCIS is rarely about the investigation itself, instead drawing strength from the team members, their interactions and their lives. Once in awhile, though, there's a case so powerful that it leaves a lasting impression on viewers and the special agents alike.

Needless to say, the disappearance of Marine Lt. Gabriela Flores was one such case.

Leave no man or woman behind.

Marines uphold this code at any cost, and from the moment Gibbs and Ziva arrived in Afghanistan, the question wasn't whether Flores would be returned to her father, but whether she would be brought back in a casket or alive.

Gibbs in Afghanistan

The action-packed Part II of "Engaged" was every bit as outstanding as the first, a wonderful tribute to the men and women (particularly the latter) of the U.S. Marine Corps - strong, equal, able and loyal.

Picking up 48 hours from when we left off last week, we began with a bit of misdirection in Gibbs aboard the military plane with a lone casket. It was easy to assume the worst for Flores. Not the case.

In a dramatic mission, she was found captive and alive, reunited with her loving father after an unspeakable ordeal. But not before her commanding officer tragically fell in his attempt to rescue her.

I know it's only a TV show, which can't possibly do justice to the sights and sounds of war (although the firefight Gibbs and Ziva were caught in came pretty close). Still, the episode was vivid and real.

NCIS displays a sense of compassionate adoration for those who serve and protect this country, and who pay the ultimate price for things we take for granted, such as being educated without fear.

Should they be glorified? No. Are they perfect? No. But they are still heroes.

Seeing the captain's body carried off the plane at Dover AFB was a moving sight. Not one we'd ever want to see, but a tragically familiar one in this day and age, and an honorable one by any measure.

There's also no such thing as an ex-Marine, which is why Gibbs connected almost as much to Gabriela Flores in 2011 as he did to Joan Matteson, a female counterpart during his own service, in 1977.

The Marines share a familial bond that civilians rarely experience. Sean Harmon conveyed this nicely, even in few words, in his flashback scenes, as did his father Mark did through most of the episode.

Gibbs' visit to Arlington Cemetery closed the night on a poignant note, and his treatment of Flores and the girls she saved showed him at his best. Still, you wonder if Jethro is headed for a breakdown.

Gibbs and Ziva in Afghanistan

His behavior during the second half of the episode - I did not expect a separate, but related domestic terrorist plot to be woven into this story - concerned Vance, and probably more than a few viewers.

His cleverly deceptive "enhanced interrogation" of the suspect with the director saved lives, whether you agree with it or not. This is what Gibbs does, he's the best at it and he loves it like nothing else.

That's why he scoffs at the idea of a vacation, and why Vance is probably kidding himself. An extra few hours in the basement over the weekend wouldn't hurt, though. He does look pretty worn down.

Also looking worse for the wear tonight was DiNozzo, who spent a lot of time pondering his life, even his place in the universe. It seemed silly at times, in typical Tony fashion, but he was quite serious.

With the help of Chaplain Burke, he reflected on the state of existence and even faced his greatest fears. The kids made for a funny twist, but isn't Tony more afraid of dying? Alone, more specifically?

In any case, Michael Weatherly brought his A-game, particularly in the chapel when he walked in, looked around and bared his soul in a way that was both profoundly human and hilariously awkward.

Pretty good acting considering he was talking to no one. No one human, anyway ...

A few closing thoughts and observations before turning it over to you:

  • I knew McGee had some technical wizardry up his sleeve at the end. Had he not, given Gibbs' frame of mind, the guy would have been dead, rather than being treated for a broken nose.
  • Abby's right. We all do complain about pretty mundane things.
  • Gibbs zinged SecNav Jarvis pretty good, didn't he?
  • Two words for Ziva: Bad. Ass. And multilingual!
  • "Therein lies the scratch." Awesome.

Hilary Duff Steps Out With Her Growing Baby Bump and Joins Amy Adams in Supporting a Good Cause

Amy Adams, Hilary Duff, and many other philanthropic stars posed for photos on the gray carpet in front of Mann's Chinese Theatre in LA last night for the official Beauty Book launch party. Hilary was joined at the event by her husband, Mike Comrie, and showed off her growing baby bump in a short, sequined minidress. Hilary's expecting a boy in the Spring, and it seems she's sticking with high-fashion looks instead of traditional maternity wear. Meanwhile, across the street at Hollywood's Roosevelt Hotel her newly single sister, Haylie, was partying with friends at Mindy Kaling's book celebration.

Amy Adams's been hitting the West Coast party scene this month with recent appearances at the LACMA Art + Film benefit and the premiere of soon-to-be children's classic The Muppets. Amy spoke with us at the Muppets premiere and said she's excited to share the film with her daughter and that working with Kermit was a joy.

Ray Thrown Out Naked for Cheating With Olympia Dukakis on 'Bored to Death' (VIDEO)

'Bored to Death' - 'Two Large Pearls and a Gold Bar'A little tip from this week's 'Bored to Death' (Mon., 9PM ET on HBO). If you're going to cheat on your significant other, try not to do it in the house you share with her. When Ray got caught cheating with an older woman -- Olympia Dukakis, no less -- he was thrown out of the house immediately.

Unfortunately for Ray, and the people out in the streets, he was in the middle of a bubble bath which "immediately" came down, and so he found himself running around outside wearing nothing but a swim cap. Luckily, George is there to help a friend in need, so Ray won't end up homeless. It also keeps him closer so he can continue going on wacky adventures with George and Jonathan, which is really what we're tuning in for every week.

NY Jets Coach Rex Ryan -- Drops F-Bomb On Loud Mouthed Fan

Filed under: Rex Ryan, TMZ Sports

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan unloaded on a fan who heckled him at halftime of last night's game against the New England Patriots -- and the expletive-laced exchange was caught on tape.

The Jets were down 13-9 ... and as Ryan walked off the field a fan said, Patriots coach "Bill Belichick is better than you."

Ryan quickly fired back, "Shut the f**k up!"

The fan should've saved his anger ... the Jets lost 37-16. The NFL might fine Rex for his choice of words.

It's a fight to the death in Hunger Games trailer

The first Hunger Games trailer is here and it promises a little glam and a battle royale.

Jennifer LawrenceThe sun doesn't shine much in The Hunger Games. The first trailer for the upcoming sci-fi thrillerfinds Katniss Everdeen and Gale Hawthorne frolicking in a field on a dewy day.

"We could do it, you know, take off, live in the woods," Gale says.

"We wouldn't make it five miles," Katniss replies.

As if to prove the point, Katniss lets an arrow fly and an ominous airship appears out of nowhere and blocks what little sun there is. The eyes of the Capital are everywhere.

The Hunger Games trailer was debuted this morning on Good Morning America from Lionsgate.

In the trailer, it's a dark world, indeed. Katniss' District 12 spans a hilly landscape, wet and limp with burden and direness. The Hunger Games of the title refers to a sporting event in which young participants, ages 12 to 17, are chosen from the districts and ordered to fight to the death for the enjoyment of the denizens living in the opulent Capital.

Once selected, Katniss gets whisked way to the Capital, a steely and churning metropolis that Fritz Lang would be proud of. There, she gets her hair done, legs waxed and is fitted for a striking off-the-shoulder red gown before being shown on TV.

Oh, Katniss is also trained in the art of mortal combat.

"I just keep wishing that I could think of a way to show them that they don't own me," says fellow tribute Peeta Mellark ."If I'm going to die, I want to still be me."

"I just can't afford to think like that," Katniss says.

The countdown to the games ominously begins and Katniss dashes to battle.

Along the way we see snippets of Lenny Kravitz as Cinna, Stanley Tucci as Caesar Flickerman, Woody Harrelson as Haymitch and Elizabeth Banks all done up as Effie Trinket. The movie, due March 23 in theaters, is based on the hit young adult novel by Suzanne Collins.
